General Details

This municipality, situated between two continents, Europe and Africa, where the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean meet, has become a tailor-made destination. It is a place where time comes to a halt, that offers itself to those who wish to visit, fulfilling visitor’s every wish and whim.
The city of San Roque, the borough’s seat of government, is located in the Strait of Gibraltar, next to the Pillars of Hercules, in the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula. A crossroads where different cultures have intermingled.

The Old Quarter and events like Holy Week, declared of an Event of National Andalusian Tourist Interest or the Royal Fair combined with all the tourist attractions within the municipality all add up to the wealth and charm of one of the most singular spots in the province of Cadiz and Andalusia as a whole.
The borough of San Roque offers visitors an enormous variety of tourist facilities which include 9 golf courses, 9 polo grounds, a marina, and extensive nature areas and countless tourist businesses.

There is no need to measure time in San Roque. You only need fifteen minutes to go from one place to another to enjoy golf, a unique nature spot such as Pinar del Rey or enjoy a nice stroll around the picturesque streets of the Old Quarter.

In addition, San Roque features excellent communications; only a fifteen minute drive along the dual carriageway is Gibraltar Airport and the Port of Algeciras, which in turn is only a half an hour from Morocco on a ferry. Also, only half an hour away is the Costa del Sol along the dual carriageway.

The AVE high-speed train and Malaga International Airport are only an hour away too.
